14 month old not fitting into Tripp trapp

I ordered the stoke Tripp trapp chair for my 14 month old DD. I'm also 6 months pregnant. I ordered the chair, harness, newborn set and baby set and cushion and paid close to 250 pounds for the whole lot. Myself and DH set it up yesterday and tried dd in it. The harness doesn't fit her properly and also her legs are getting caught in the baby set making it difficult to remove her. Whilst we anticipate getting a few months out of this I don't see how we'll get long out of the baby set hey recommend 36 months and definitely the harness is no use now. DD isn't big for her age and is still in some 9-12 month clothes but does have big thighs from her dads side Grin DH wants to return the chair and get a different chair like a mamas and papas one we had for our ds. I'm just wondering has anyone had this problem or am I doing something wrong. I love the chair but I can see DH point where it's a lot of money for something that won't last us too long

I see theyve changed the baby set, the bar used to be much narrower. That said, I’m fairly sure we just used the harness at that age and just pushed the chair right in to the table.

Harness is quite small, yes, but I’ve had it on my girls over a year old.

I’m confused you can’t fit your child in the baby set. I could put ours on now and could def fit my 2 year old in it and probably fit my four year old in it too!

She will fit in it now but when I left her out I feel like I'm pinching her legs. DH is worried we won't get too long more out our it after paying so much for it.

I never had a baby set part, just the basic TrippTrapp seat and dd sat in it from 1 or younger. I got the baby set for dd2 but only used it for a very short time as it was too difficult to get them in and out.

We had DS1 in the baby set until he was at least 2. The straps went round him and probably still would now he's 3 1/2.
DS2 has just started in his and he is 6 months old and is using the same baby set.

Also I know full grown teenagers still using one so you'll definitely get use out of it.

Yes, I often sit on ours (not in the baby set!) as it’s quite comfortable.

The baby set is a very tight fit but it’s a great chair once they can be trusted not to try to get down from the table. Then it will last as long as you want. DC age 14 still uses theirs.
Buy an IKEA Antelope high chair for now. They’re brilliant.
