Restaurant highchairs

Hi Everyone,

I have a 7 month old so in the middle of weaning. When we are out and about most cafes and restaurants have wooden high chairs that don’t offer much support - does anyone carry an insert with them to go in them? Can you get a universal insert?
Thanks 😊

I used to take my Ikea insert with me in the early days of weaning. I bloody hate those wooden highchairs, baby just flops around in them.

Thank you, the high chairs are pants and the straps may as well be non existent! Will check out the Ikea insert.

I often take a scarf or pashmina to tie around like a kind of sling to make them more secure.
I do the same with trolleys that don’t have belts.

It takes me ages to figure out the straps on wooden highchairs, they are usually a complex tangled web. I sigh relief when I walk into a restaurant and they have Ikea highchairs 😂.

I've also used the Ikea insert for trolleys too. It's quite handy to have around.

I tend to take our Chico pocket snack with us which also gets round the lack of tray issue with the wooden ones.
