Small table and chairs for 1 year old??

Has anyone used a small table and chairs for meals for a child as young as 13 months?

I have an older toddler as well and we're about to move to a house which can't fit a table in the kitchen. I really don't want to be traipsing back and forth to the dining room to feed them and the mess is so much better contained in the kitchen!

Kitchen would fit a child size small table and chairs. Can I use one for my 13 month old so he and toddler can still eat together? Would I need some kind of reins or something?

Following because I would love a tiny table and chairs for a reasonable price! I think dd would sit and eat if she was hungry, but might be more easily distracted than if in a high chair, so more mess!

We have the IKEA set - really cheap and cheerful. Can be painted too if you want. Ours is used daily for meals, drawing etc. I love it.

We have the Ikea ones like this

You could attach a reins harness to one of the chairs, I reckon that would work well!

The DDs were not that interested in sitting at the table independently until well after 2 and when they were used to it from nursery. You could attach a reins harness to one of the chairs, I reckon that would work well!

I have the Ikea set too - DD2 started wanting to sit with DD1 when she was maybe 15 months or so. She now has all her meals (now 19 months) at the little table with her older sister. It is messier than a high chair but they look super cute together and she is quite fond of her food so she doesn't wander around too much.

We did for 3yr old and 1yr old. Only problem was 1yr old would push himself away from table which would flip the chair. We ended up putting his chair with the back against the wall which stopped the problem.

I got the pencils one from smyths.

DS has sat at a table since he was 13 months. They have to do it at his nursery.

Brilliant, thanks all. This has made me feel much more positive (still hate the thought of no table in kitchen!)
