Apologies for the pun but this is a fairly accurate description as DD (6.5 months) is stuck in the babyset.

She is very skinny so I don't think it's the case of chubby legs. I wonder whether we DH did not install the baby set properly.

I thought it was a straightforward case of just clicking things together but then I could not insert the plastic bar that goes between the legs into the right slot (it was too far away) and DH had to use some tool to do it (idiot mother emoticon). Now the bar is at ca. 60 degree angle to the seat. I can put DD into the seat but it is extremely difficult to pull her out, she is clearly uncomfortable as I try to manoeuvre her legs out of this contraption. And there I was, all excited about starting our weaning...

Has anyone experienced the same issue? Did we do something wrong or this is an inherent design flaw? Are previous versions of the babyset (with a leather strap) better?

(Or shall I just forget about the expense and get the Antilop until she can sit without a baby set??)

Thanks!

Butter on the legs might help?

Sorry have no idea about the highchair.

Thank you movingsoon, from the drawing it looks like we did it properly... Hmm, may she does have chubby legs despite being on the 9th centile...

BertieBotts, thank you, it was not so dramatic as to require butter on the legs, but she did cry when I pulled her out the few times we've used it.

Anyone experienced a similar issue?

Hi Umnitsa,

It is really awkward to get my son, who is 7 months and also 9th centile, in and out of the Tripp Trapp - I do often wonder how chunkier babies manage.

But because of the quite snug fit it offered much better support when he first started sitting in it at 5 months, so I guess that is a benefit.
