bouncing cradle vs swing

If you were to only buy one of these, rather than both - which would you choose?
My son is 5 weeks old and I wanted to buy either a bouncing chair with a vibrate setting, toys, etc or a baby swing. My original plan was to get a swing but as these are around £100 vs a fisher price bouncing chair for around £45, I'm wondering whether the extra spend is worth it or if the chair would be just as useful!

In my personal experience the bouncer was more useful (we did have both) but my DC liked the up and down motion rather than the swinging. The bouncer was so much more portable too - I took it with me everywhere!

I don't know if it would be the same for every baby or if it's what they become accustomed to from the beginning.

At five weeks you may have an idea as to which movements settle him?

Thank you Tallulah, will probably go with the bouncer. At the moment he settles quite easily without much movement - I'm sure that won't last though!

agree with tallulah
the chair is more portable, so more practical
and dd2 definitely prefers the bouncer (lovely MIL spoilt us and bought both!)

My dd hated the baby swing and we got no use out of it at all. Good if you can try him in one first.
