I was 21, thought I knew it all & was more than a bit shocked to find I knew nothing! Had great fun growing up with my dd though. I then had my ds at 28 (much more sensible!) & dd2 at 29. DD1 had her first at 22 & is a FAB mum so I must have done something right...

Wheely, are you thread killing?
How's your little bundle of joy?

FruitynNutty · 31/05/2009 08:53

I don't think I've ever posted on Gransnet before!

Wheelybug · 31/05/2009 21:19

Hi fruity - looks that way . I too hadn't realised it was gransnet !!

Things here are ok - except dd2 has a horrible cough which is quite distressing and won't shift. Other than that though she's great. how are you doing ?

Disenchanted3 · 31/05/2009 21:21

  1. I feel a lot tireder than when I was in my 20's but I think I'm a much more chilled out confident mum than I would have been in my 20's. I feel bad sometimes that I'll be in my 50s and when DS is a teenager - hopefully I'll be one of those young older ladies.

I was 18 and then had another at 20.My parents lived in another country and I was coping with domestic violence. When I look back now I don't know how I survived or how my two wonderful sons turned out so well.

I had baby number three almost three years ago when I was 42 and then 364 days later my fab ds1 made me a grandmother

31, surprise shock pregnancy contraception falure

2nd @ 34 and that's it for me.

If nature hadn't taken over would only just be thinking of ttc now at 35 and may never have actually had dcs as was v ambivalent about it.

Still in a state of shock and have never been broody or maternal!

Even @ 31 round here I'm a "young" first time Mum. Most leave is until 35+. Only 1 Mum I know had babies (slightly) younger than me at 29.

Saying that hope dd had babies in her 20s so I can look after them and be a bog part of their lives while I still have the energy!

grannieonabike · 17/07/2010 12:57

First at 19, last at 36. Now I'm 52, so I will have been looking after children for 36 continuous years by the time my 15 year-old leaves home at 18. Now I'm a grannie too. Why do I still make mistakes??

1sst at 30 - I was unflatteringly called an Elderly Primagravida
2nd - 33
3rd - 39 - asked at ante natal clinic if I was considered old to be having a baby, midwife said no one bats an eye til you're over 40 these days.

how times change
