how grateful I am that I have got a fab mum and my DCs have a fab Granny.

We read so many stories on here about other people who are not so lucky.

Mum, THANKS, you are a star!

How lovely!

I would like to add a tribute to my mum who has come to my huose for one day a week for nearly the whole of the last year. She cleans, tidies, changes nappies, de-weeds my garden. My DS completely adores her and she's always up for babysitting.

Thanks to my mum for being so wonderful.

ditto to my mum ds turned 2 at the weekend and she still never fails to amaze me with how brilliant she (and my dad) are with ds. I just love watching ds reaction when he sees their car pull up on the front of our house.

Same to my Mum who is coming to mind my 4 boys in October!

Wow, 4 boys, your Mum will be kept busy. Well done her.

DS was soo excited that his Granny was coming over, he told everyone in his kindergarten

That is lovely, you are lucky to have your mum so near.

I am back from my trip and the house is tidy, the washing done, the kids happy as she took them swimming this morning.

How nice it is to hear some MNetters complimenting their Mums instead of asking AIBU and complaining. We do sometimes take them for granted.

My folks do this all the time for my sister, but they are 5,000 miles away from us.

Next summer when they come, we'll get to go away and htey'll have all three of the kids.

As it is, we are so lucky as they are retired and comfortable so after DS is born they are coming to stay for the entire month of November.

I'll be able to get bf established and not feel guilty about the girls because Mama and Papa will be having fun playing with them and Mama is a fab housekeeper.

I can't wait to spend our evenings sharing wine and playing cards whilst DS feeds.

I haven't been on Mumsnet for months and it is so nice to hear the compliments MmmeLindt has made about me. Did not know you had changed your name but recognised what you said. Now you have to watch what you say!

My mum and dad are fabbo too. Dad is retired and often picks up DD for me when I have to work late (dh works odd hours). My mum has just taken early retirement (aged 50) and also does a lot.
They offer to look after my DD on a regular basis.
I've been asked by work to go overseas for a few weeks, and the thought of leaving DD was making me ummm and ahhh, so mum and dad have said they'll come with me for a holiday with DD and look after her while I work, but we can all be together in the evening!
