Pain

I have severe back pain which flares up more at times. My daughter still expects me to have my granddaughter (3) once can week overnight so she can get some time off. I love having my granddaughter but there are times it's physically impossible. How do I get my daughter to realise I just can't do it all the time. I hate saying no but no one really understands just how much I hurt

I think our children have a vision of us that applied when they were children. It seems to be really difficult to bring them up to speed, especially when it is an unseen illness.
I think you need to have a series of conversations with her. Don't start with not being able to look after your grandchild. That might cause a lot of upset. Rather, begin to explain, complain about the pain you are in on a regular basis . Hope this is helpful.
