Hi I pick my 2 year old grandson up on Wednesdays from nursery and take him back to mine until my son comes home, he then takes him home, my son is not with the mother.
but now she has decided that I’m not allowed and I have to take him straight home but he gets upset because he likes coming to my house. So my son has told her I’m not picking him up anymore, I don’t know what to now

Can I suggest that you continue to pick your grandson up and take him back to his mothers. The reason I suggest this is for you not to get involved in the bickering of your son and his ex - they are adults, they can worry about themselves. Focus on the child and put their needs first and let both adults get on with it.

In a while, she'll hopefully change her mind. It will be good for you to have a quick chat on the doorstep when you handover and give you a few brownie points. Start by asking if it's ok if you stop off for an ice cream one day and build it up from there, gain her trust.

It was wrong for your son to tell her you wouldn't do it anymore. This is why I always say stay out of their nonsense and just focus on the kids.
