Evening all, Hoping I can hear from others about their experiences, advice with regard to intergenerational living in the same/attached properties. We have the opportunity to purchase a house with a garden flat. My parent is very keen on the idea, as are we, but what should we be aware of? How do you work out ownership/privacy/inheritance/future care bills etc? The idea is that we each sell our current properties and go in together. We love fairly close at the moment (ten minute walk) an spend a fair amount of time together. We're all looking to the future when parent may not be as mobile or independent. In your experience, is this a good idea. Thank you for any insight you can give.
