hi my name is Carole and I live in north Yorkshire - im 61 and sadly never able to have children but in a happy loving long term relationship . I see how much fun my friends have with their grandchildren and would love to have similar in my life, and wonder if anyone who may of sadly lost parents and would love their children to know a step/adopted granny are interested in considering me - I worked as a carer for many many years and have dbr checks from police for both children and elderly so can prove this is all above board and looking to enhance my life .....and hopefully yours - I suffer with lupus and arthritis but still fairly active and very young at heart - I love all animals and have a grumpy jack Russell called Katie who I love dearly . my partner is Tony and he still works full time - we are friendly kind loving we enjoy travel, reading , all sports , gardening and meeting new people - we have a lot of friends but been part of a family would mean the world to me esp as im an only child love to hear from you if interested esp in north yorks area thank you love Carole x

Hi Carole, that’s lovely. I’m sadly down south but good luck.

I wonder if you would be interested in meeting my clan?

I am an only child with no family other than my DM who moved 180 miles North a couple of years ago. We have no relatives here but are happy and settled. We live in a popular seaside town in North Yorks.

The eldest two who have Aspergers are teenagers but I also have a DD age 10. She would really love to have 'grandparents'. My DF died before she was born and her other GPs back home are uninterested.

As a family we love reading and films and going to new places. We are a wacky bunch but very close.

We have dog and four cats, two guinea pigs and a snake. We love animals!

Don't know if we are what you looking for but happy to meet up.

Unfortunately we are not nearby but I wish you well finding a family. I think it's an excellent idea and we (a 'young family') are very much on the lookout for an 'adopted granny'. Unfortunately we have no significant relationships with anyone from older generations in our lives. My grandparents died before I was born and I always think about what it would be like if they were around today. Best of luck, you sound lovely and open to new ideas and adventure so I'm sure you will find what your looking for. 😌

That's great. Sounds like a good idea. I will try and work out how to PM you. I am going away tomorrow for a few days but I'll try and do it on the journey.

Fruitcakes · 16/08/2018 23:09

I still haven't worked out how to pm using my phone!! If you are still interested then try messaging me and I'll attempt to reply Grin.

Your post nearly made me cry. I wish we lived closer to you because my boys technically have two grannies but neither of them are very interested in my boys. I think you should start a website or a Facebook group to join families with grandparents!

Hi Carole, I'm wondering how you got on your search for a family? I live in the Dales and have 3 children between 0 & 7.

This is lovely!
Wish you were in the south!
