Who do you love more - kids or grandkids?

I've always been curious about this question! I guess people have a stronger direct bond with their own child than with their grandchildren, but then everyone says grandchildren are more enjoyable because usually you get the good bits and not the crappy bits of parenting with them. I guess the love you have for each is different maybe, but when it comes down to it: who do you love more?

Equal but different in my case.

I actually love them the same. I cannot differentiate my love for them at all.

I asked my parents and ILs this. Parents said the same- fair enough. Though if in honest I just can't see how it can be exactly equal.
ILs said they love grandkids more!! I was a bit Hmm as I find them quite overbearing around Ds and think maybe they've just forgotten the intensity of feeling when you're the mum and dad.

I'm sure my parents would say the grandkids (they're MUCH better brought up than I was Grin)

Recall listening to Tom Conti on Desert Island Discs; he said that the child you loved with all your heart had to take a sideways step once they had made you a grandparent! In my own case, this is so true! Although my children know that I adore them, I have completely fallen in love with their offspring! My GC remind me of their parents at the same funny, hilarious ages!!! I often say to my son-in-law, "Sorry if you think that I am ignoring you but I love what you have given to me!" It's wonderful being a grandmother - far, far more fun than parenthood!
