Hello everyone. This is my first time posting in this forum and I would like some advice.

My mum looks after my son and my two nieces. She has another grandchild on the way and will probably spend time looking after this new addition to our family.

Thing is, as much as she enjoys it, she has had to radically cut back on her own paid employment to do so. While she doesn't ask for anything, I can see that this loss of her own money is having a negative impact on her sense of independance and self worth. I understand that Child Tax Credits give some money towards paying for childcare and would like to know can we arrange for this money to go to my mum? Is it possible?

Think she needs to be registered as a childminder.
