Can anyone help me with information on this please.
I have been told my DD yr2, has just flown through the test for level 3 maths.
She needed to score >12 and got 24.
Her teacher said she was going to do an IEP for her as she was flying .
I am pleased she is doing well, but have no idea as to what this means for her.
Any information gratefully received.

It will mean that your DD has a set of targets designed to stretch her which will get reviewed termly.

My DS in Y1 has an IEP for maths. As the post above says it's fairly straghtforward. A list of 3-5 areas where he will be stretched and what the targets are eg. one of my Ds's is to learn about all the different kind of charts (eg, graph, venn, bar chart, pie etc) and know which one to select to display different types of data in the best way. For that it identifies how he will learn this - 1 2 1 time with the TA (20 mins per day), lists the resources/books/websites they will use and how it will be measured ie. DS will select the appropriate chart 4 out of 5 times.

It's quite like workplace based objectives. It has a review date at which time you'll have a mtg with the teacher and both look at that IEP and plan the next one. Before DS's IEP was started we had a session with the teacher, so I guess yours will be asking to see you to talk it through.

I've found it to be very useful - DS's teacher basically admitted he hasn't learnt any maths this year as he already knew it all - I see it as a bit of an insurance policy - it's in writing, so they have to do it!
