In fact, I sometimes think the G&T children should be given something COMPLETELY different to do - like learning Russian or Latin or something, or gardening, or hang-gliding. To stretch their brains in a different direction.

I would agree, Tortoiseshell. Bird-watching, or gardening, or anything that takes the pressure off achievement and attainment

Pressure! that is only put on kids by pushy parents who want their kids to be recognised as G & T when they are actually not. They have to achieve because they are under pressure. G & T comes natural it isn't pressured.
