thanks Wilkie. I'm not a pushy parent .... honest, its just that when I compare my H to others of a similar age, she really seems to stand out. I would hate her to become bored and frustrated.

Link please! Can you tell I don't want to start those effing packed lunches?

Oxocube - my H is just writing her dissertation for her PHD. Mind you, I have pushed her to make a career choice, I don't want her to join a circus (which, incidentally, it sounds as though your H might do) as I think it is a little 'beneath' her capabilities.

Wilkie, am very afraid my H may rebel and fail to see that there is life outside the confines of her ball. Am torn between letting her take a year out to discover herself and persevering with a more academic route in the hope that she may realise her true worth

good luck to your H (or should that be DH ) with the dissertation. I feel confident that in the future, both our Hs will realise that we always had their best interests at heart

My cat is gifted and talented. (She can smell a roast dinner from half way down the street)

She has so many talents, but being a cat she just won't perform when asked... I fear that my cat's gifts just aren't being recongised and nutured by our local state school. Infact the school will not let her attend.

oxocube if you let your H take a year out, she might get eaten by our cat though..

I have had several genius hamsters

You would think wouldn't you, that you couldn't be so lucky as to have more than one exceptionally talented one, but I guess its just the environment I provide.....
