DD's language and reading skills

So as not to seem a boaster I am a name changer. If you think you recognise my circs please do not out me. mY DD is not yet 2. We have always been very careful with our language around her and DS. Swearing does not happen in this house. However, DD has a vocab of around 200 words, including 'naughty' words such as fck, sht, bgger, wnkers the c word, btch and bstard. She does not have access to tv other than c beebies. Her DB knows none of these words as he is not yet school age. DD does however spend a lot of her time sat next to me when i am on the computer when I am reading this fabbo site. Therefore, DH and I have concluded that the only way she could have learnt these words is by reading them off these very pages. Do I have the brightest child on mn? Should i be the proudest mother ever? Do you think there will be any schools interested in offering scholorship at this early age? Amazing isn't she?!!

Oh and BTW, DD is hooked on fruit shoots so maybe we ought to be a little more lenient on this site towards this drink. It has done wonders for us.

I bet your dd would be able to spell Aptamil properly!

CreepyJess · 07/10/2006 16:23

It's the Fruit Shoots that do it. Every time my kids have them they say "Mum why must you give us that fucking vile and noxious substance? Please pop along to Waitrose and purchase the ingredients for a fabbio Smoothie a la fucking Gillian McKeith why doncha?"

Must be the blend of E numbers therein. Stiumulates their vocubalary and swear glands simultaneously..

madmarchscare · 07/10/2006 16:26

lol, is that you UCM?, no seriously is it ruby?

swearpants · 07/10/2006 22:06

No - not them. Please - I did ask not to be outed. Any mothers scoffing grapes around supermarkets who hear my DD's wonderful vocab will recognise ME!
