Brag away, and when we get our school reports on friday (hopefully) I'll brag right back

*disclaimer - the act of bragging about high SATs scores in no way negates the fact that any bragging MNers would, of course, be inordinately proud of any achievement, act or simple fact of the existance of their children, over, above and under said SATs scores. OK?!

Greensleeves · 27/06/2006 23:37

I saw you

I'm telling cod

NotAnOtter · 27/06/2006 23:41

Wow, how old is he?

I looked up the meaning of SATs levels earlier, so I am suitably impressed. Tell me he's still in Primary School and I will raise my eyebrow in a 'super impressed' manner.

TwinsetandPearls · 27/06/2006 23:46

THat is very good, how old is he

NotAnOtter · 27/06/2006 23:46

no he is not i dont think you can get above a 5 in primary!

i did look them up and see that it said 'exceptional!'

Well, I will raise both eyebrows anyway in tribute to his great results

Good on you, Notanotters Boy! Keep up the good work.

TwinsetandPearls · 27/06/2006 23:54

It is very good, the best I have given out this year in my marking is one level 7 - although that was Yr8 ICT.

TwinsetandPearls · 27/06/2006 23:56

Level 8
Pupils solve problems involving calculating with powers, roots and numbers expressed in standard form, checking for correct order of magnitude. They choose to use fractions or percentages to solve problems involving repeated proportional changes or the calculation of the original quantity given the result of a proportional change. They evaluate algebraic formulae, substituting fractions, decimals and negative numbers. They calculate one variable, given the others, in formulae such as V = Yr2h. Pupils manipulate algebraic formulae, equations and expressions, finding common factors and multiplying two linear expressions. They know that a 2 -b 2= (a+b)(a - b). They solve inequalities in two variables. Pupils sketch and interpret graphs of linear, quadratic, cubic and reciprocal functions, and graphs that model real situations.

Level 8 mathematics - more than I could ever do!

NotAnOtter · 27/06/2006 23:57

loads of them did well - i told him i think they have made them easier...
I do believe they have

TSAP, that makes my head hurt and my brain do twisty things when I try to read it.

NAO - congrats to mini-not-otter - he sounds super!

singersgirl · 28/06/2006 09:48

Cor blimey, what a clever boy! Congratulations to him. Like Hunkermunker, I get a funny kind of swooshing noise in my ears when I read about all those variables.

charliecat · 28/06/2006 09:52

TSAP I cant read that without feeling giddy

PMSL @ Serenity's disclaimer.

Well done notanotter. You'll enjoy the summer hols all the better for that result I bet.

Twiglett · 28/06/2006 12:26

can I do one

DS has moved on to the top table for reading in his reception class (Not that there is a top table .. oh no .. but all the kids on this table are bright and fluent readers) .. I am only so pleased because he's was way at the bottom for the first half of the year (not bottom as such, but definitely lagging behind)

oh minefield, minefield .. thy name is primary school ..

bugger this .. I'm proud of him [girn]

TwinsetandPearls · 28/06/2006 18:51

That is fantastic twiglett.

Hunkermunker and charliecat I couldn't get past the second line

hunkermunker · 28/06/2006 18:53

TSAP, I C&Pd it and posted it in another thread. Will bump it for you.

Milliways · 28/06/2006 21:43

DS got his results today, 3 level 5's Top of class in Maths & Science!

DD is a YR 10 & got her predicted grades this week, all A's & A*'s. That is sooo much pressure to live up to. (But I am proud)

mummyofeb · 28/06/2006 22:15
