Does the Able Children register still exist?

I understand that this is a voluntary body rather than the Government's ludicrous G&T scheme. Does anyone know if it is still around?

Thanks.

What Able Children Register? Which voluntary body?

The "ludicrous" G&T scheme required schools to maintain a register. Several schools, in a bit of politically correct manouvering and in a desperate attempt to avoid using the term "gifted", made it a point to always refer to their G&T register as the "Able Children Register".

So, sorry to not bring good news, but the Able Children Register and G&T Register are the same thing, AFAIK.
