Questions to ask the school

Hi all. I usually post in SN WRT my DS who is being assessed for ASD amongst other things, however the initial EP assessments raised some areas where he's performing above the norm. They did the BAS II where he came out with a GCA (general conceptual ability) on the 93rd percentile, non verbal reasoning at 99th percentile and vocabulary on 97th percentile. We also did the CCC2 (childrens communication checklist) which scored his speech, syntax and semantics at 97th, 95th and 95th percentiles. The report explained that this put him at 8+ years in those areas at 4y10m.

The report also raised issues that have lead to a recommendation that he's seen by a deveopmental paediatrician re the ASD, however I have a follow up meeting with the school as well to discuss what they can do to teach him in the areas where he's excelling.

Do you have any suggestions as to questions we can ask at this meeting? I suppose I want to know what they can do to encourage him and expand on the areas where he's doing well, rather than concentrating on the ASD issues (which are for the paed).

Thanks.
