Talk to me about IEP. Have been told dd will be having one drawn up. She is perhaps 1 year ahead of peers.

Individual Education Plan, formal paperwork to put in to place extra support. It identifies the aims and what needs to be done and is regularly evaluated. Clever girl! How old is she?

4 3/4 in reception.

Well thats good, clearly a very good school that has recognised your DD potential early. An IEP is a good thing, it is pretty much as it says, a plan on how best to maximise your lil ones potential.

Thank you.

blackeyedsusan - can't understand your surprise really, it's not that unusual.

cokezone1 · 02/03/2011 17:33

Hi. Not much to report really susan. Don't think IEP drawn up yet. Has moved up more reading levels though. Turquoise. Seems to be only child not on red. (Whatever ORT level that is. Maybe she is just part of a non exceptional cohort this year.

I have been told she is working at nc level 1b approx. Whatever that means. I don't really understand reading schemes either. It would appear she is on stage 7 from that chart. I know dd1 was on that level in year 2 but I think she was allowed to coast in year 1.

BTW i think he she is included most of the time. I think teacher planning to spend a small amount of time per week doing other stuff.

Shock

I'm amazed!

You teacher clearly doesn't have many kids with SEN if she can spend time writing up an IEP for a YR child working at 1b.

Bizarre.
