Gifted and talented

He may be, he may not be. I have no intention of listing his accomplishments and asking you if that means he is extra bright.

i just want to know, IF he is, are there systems in place to handle it?

The reason I ask is that my BIL was a child prodigy, and it ruined his life. I think DS is bright, but I am really hoping its just average normal bright.

However, if it does turn out that he is "gifted" are there system in schools to handle it these days?

NB we couldn't afford private school, so its really if there is anything in the state system to handle children like that

Pixie, thats really helpful, thankyou very much. Especially that state schools can be great with this kind of thing. As I said, hoping its not necessary but it could be.

Don't you need to try any school to see how it goes, being prepared to move him if school is not right for him?
