Medication shortage

Went to pick up my repeat prescription today to discover it's out of stock indefinitely in the UK. Not in other countries. Apparently this is the case for loads of medicines currently.

I've got a call with GP later to discuss alternatives but am so worried. It's a dangerous med to just "stop" with no exact replacement available and the other possibilities have some horrible side effects. Suicidal tendencies, anyone?

I can't believe we're in a situation where this is happening :( Not sure whether better to try going cold turkey and dice with my health condition or pump a load of chemicals I'm really not happy with into my body purely because the ACTUAL treatment that suited me is only available in other countries now.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this. Lord knows what's going on with this country right now. 🥴
Definitely wait to speak to your GP. Mention your concerns and see what is advised. They have to be able to surely find a suitable next port of treatment/medicine for you if you're unable to get hold of your regular one. They can't just expect you to go cold turkey, and I wouldn't like to advise this either!
I hope you manage to get things sorted OP. Xx
