Congenital Pneumonia

Hi there, just wondering if anyone else out there has had a baby born with congenital pnuemonia?

My DS was born with the condition and spent 1 week in SCBU and they then sent us home with a "Your baby is fine and will not be affected by this blah blah blah". So off we went to enjoy our baby. He then developed pneumonia at 10 months and has pretty much coughed and been ill ever since. He is now 17 months.

My local doctors are useless and always treat me like a paranoid mother whenever I take him in with a temp (and persistant cough that has never gone away)

He has had three x-rays all showing pneumonia (10 months/15 months & now 17 months) and has had various other things like recurring ear infections and tonsilitis. He has had 5 lots of antibiotics in 7 months.

We finally have an appointment with the Peadeatrics Respiratory team next month.

And on top of this he seems to have several allergies, egg being a definite one and I suspect berries and dairy intolerance. And he has been constipated since birth (even as a fully breastfed baby!)

Any advice or similar experiences please!

My DS is nearly 10 months and he was born with this too. Has sniffles quite a bit but nothing out of the ordinary, thank the Lord...
