Breast reduction, mind made up!

Have just read the archives and have emailed dejags about this in the past
Dp and I have decided that we are not going to try for another child (3rd) anymore after 2 miscarriages and an ectopic resulting in loss of a tube and severe ovarian scarring.
So these tits can GO!!!!!!!!
My dr has said she is happy to refer me as I have deep indents (show up in xray) in my shoulders and although the size is 36F the weight of them is over 1 stone and she believes (as does my osteo) that the boobs cause my severe neck and shoulder pain, not to mention the anguish about appearance, things not fitting.
Now she says they normall demand weight loss but as I am 9.5 stone (and 1 st of that breast) and 5ft 6 she thinks it is not needed.
DP has said I can go private if I really want - I know NHS often proportion the weight rather than giving you the c cup you so badly want?
I do want a c cup. no more no less...
I do not even know what I'm asking for, I just need to tell mn as I dare not tell my mum or mil etc
Am excited so much....

I do think it might be wise to pay close attn to the proportions of your body, rather than just stating that you'd like them to be a certain size. It's a major op and it would be awful to go through all that and then discover that they look too small for your bod... Although I doubt c-cups would look odd on a 5'6", 9 stone figure.

my mum is identical frame to me and has c cups and she is perfect (physically speaking) (I inherited my dads sisters knockers and my mums build - genetics have the last laugh)
But yes I would take it on advice of course.
Dp has been incredible, I kow its one thing me dicing with nipple desensitivity but for him, what a guy :

Don't worry too much right now about the size - a good surgeon will discuss what you want and weigh up the end result and try to gain a middle ground.

Will not know about the waiting time until the referral which is about 4 wks away, she has said it could be well over a year which is why dp has said that we could afford it as a family next year - he feels that as it is nnot a life or death health operation we should pay for it and leave the queue free for someone who can't...
He's such a nice guy

good for you piffle, I'm gonna do this (privately) next year - just finishing off bfing dd2 now. Am like you, 5ft7, size 12 (11st at the mo but happier under 10) and my boobs are 36GG!

Just think, little strappy tops, pretty bras that match your knickers, no leery looks in the street, buying dresses that fit...

good for you! I had this done when I was 20 (ten years ogo) and it was the best thing I ever did. Scars are barely visible and boobs look marvellous if I say so myself! Also just finished breast feeding my four month old daughter so they still worked despite the op! Good luck with it and enjoy the underwear shopping!

Oh good luck! I have been thinking of this for so long and am pretty sure I'm going to go for it next year. I'm a 36E and I quite liked being a curvy girl when they were perky but 2 children later ..... It is not nice to be a big girl when they are sad and deflated! Where did you do all your research about it?

went for a pre op assessment when I was 20 but when they said I was unlikely to be able to breastfeed I canned it.
So here I am 15 yrs later, finished the nursing of babes...
Basically the osteopath declared she thought they were causing my neck pains which she sees me for twice a month for the last 4 yrs.
So then I went to the doctor and she concurred
Dp agrees a little hesitantly, so I discuss with mumsnet
I know they have to be smaller now, I'm sick of lugging the buggers around, and although mine are in decent shape for whoppers, I hate them
