Sinusitis?

Not sure if I have this or not - I've looked up the symptoms and it all fits ..headaches, sinus pain under the eyes ..pain gets worse when I bend over, but there's one thing missing. I don't have a blocked nose/cattarh - my nose is totally clear. This has been going on a few weeks now btw.
Is this likely to be sinusitis, does anyone know or something else.

Take some Sudafed and see if you get relief.

I have this and can totally sympathise, I'm also pregnant too so can't take proper strength painkillers!
It should normally go away by itself but if the pain is getting worse and it's been going on for a few weeks you may need antibiotics.
A few things that work for me are Beconase, homeopathic remedies that you can get in Boots for sinusitis and sitting over a bowl of hot water with some olbas oil in. I don't have a blocked nose either but it can just be inflammation in the sinus that's causing the pain.

I had this too, I ended up needing Anti bs, I was in agony.

yes it's been a few weeks now and ordinary pain relief isn't really helping much ..guess I should go to the drs then

I've suffered with chronic sinusitis for years, although apparently not bad enough to require surgery. Quite relieved at this tbh because my older brother had an op and let's just say it wasn't a very pleasant procedure to go through.

I've had various bouts of anti-biotics, nasal sprays and all sorts but the best thing I've found is to lay off the dairy products - milk, cheese etc. If you have a search around the internet, you'll find there is a connection between sinus problems and dairy produce. The only thing that makes me think that this is not the case for you is that you say you have no nasal congestion. Mine is really bad, particularly in the mornings, but if I cut out milk, cheese etc it definitely improves.

If you've got a one off sinus infection then anti-biotics should do the trick. Hope it all works out and let us know how you get on at the doc's.

Interesting to read this as I have chronic sinusitis and was referred only a couple of months ago to an ENT consultant. As a result of his examination and an MRI scan, I am having septal surgery (I have a deviated septum from past nasal injury - a fall) in 6 weeks time.

I am nervous about the procedure and recovery time but over the moon that something is being done finally, as I have suffered with this for years. With two young children at home this condition is no joke; it is soul destroying sometimes, as you feel so ill (can get nauseous with the pain) but don't look ill at all!

I advise anyone with chronic sinus problems to badger their doctor for a referral. In my case (and it might differ with others), the steriod drops, nasal saline sprays, sudafed, sinutab, ibuprofen etc etc did not work! Life is too short to suffer.

I am very hopeful that this surgery will sort me out - and after general anaesthetic I will have no excuse but to rest at home!
