RHS face and eyelid going suddenly numb and droopy..

I have been told it could be down to "migraines or anxiety". I was never medically diagnosed with migraine so I assume it has something to do with the anxiety disorder I have.

Has anyone else any experience of this?

It happens periodically but at no specific time of day and whenever I rush to look in the mirror, the only thing I notice is my right eyelid is very slightly lower than the left.

It actually feels like my whole RHS of my face has melted or the muscles have just given up. The feeling comes back, I do some breathing exercises to calm down and then it feels numb and slightly tingly for 5 mins then goes away.

I also have TMJ from clenching my teeth when I am sleeping/stressed so have a jaw that attempts to dislocate frequently. Not sure if this is linked.

Thanks to anyone who replies as I though you might have experienced this and if it leads to anything worse or if you were diagnosed with anything/given treatment for it...

What does your doctor say it is?

He didn't. He just said you sometimes get this when you suffer from migraines (which I think I do from time to time but have never been diagnosed/treated for) and "come back if it gets worse"....

I have social anxiety disorder so it is really hard to get out and about but have read online about Bells Palsy although it's not really like that. GP never said it was that either so... I don't know...

If your doctor is not concerned about it being anything else, then try not to worry about it.What therapy /treatment are you having for the anxiety?
