Very anxious about constant ear ache

Hello,

I have had a dull deep in my right ear. The ache is around the area in the bone behind the ear too. Very dull but always there. Not bad enough to wake me up but am always aware of it. Have had it for about 2 months. When I run it hurts more and was out in the wind which made it worse. I used to smoke and am convinced myself I have head/neck cancer. Am going to the doctor but have talked myself into disaster. An ideas about what it might be?

Anyone there. Need a bit of perspective on this please.

It may just be an ear infection...
Does your outer ear feel hot, is there any discharge coming out of the ear?
Even without these additional symptoms, it may still just be a simple infection....would ask GP to check

could be mastoiditis.this can be treated with anti biotic if treated promptly,my uncle had it a few years bck.Please go and see gp it will easily be sorted.

Thanks. I did see the doc and he thinks I might have mild eczema in my ear which is irritating it. Have some drops and go back in 5 days if no better. I appreciate you answering.
