Tooth Decay

I am pretty sure that one of my bottom pre-molars is decayed. I spotted a grey area on it, and saw that the gum looked a little greyed, and when light was shining on it there was a greyed section in the tooth.

half an hour of A few proddings have revealed that I can get the metal kebab skewer around and under the outer corner of the tooth.

So far it is painless, but I don't know whether I need to seek treatment now (I have an NHS dentist) or wait until either it hurts or my next appointment.

Also, if possible, is there anything I can do to help it?

Best thing is go to the dentist asap. The sooner you go, the more likely they can help.
