i dont

mummylonglegs · 27/08/2005 12:59

Drop, that's a fantastic idea, all meeting up! Would you be up for that cc? Can you get to the London Bridge / Waterloo area by train?

What are you guys up to today?

charliecat · 27/08/2005 13:00

I would be up for that when we get some pennys together, not for the next few weeks anyway, seriously skint.
I am doing not much today, going camping tonight in a field with a few bands. Dragging the kids along, should be a great laugh!

mummylonglegs · 27/08/2005 13:04

A few 'bands' cc?

Yes, I'm broke for a bit. Dd's birthday coming up at the beginning of October and not a lot of dosh for gifts ... Plus dp extremely stressed with work and not much able to help. Took dd to a soft play place this morning and they were playing lots of music I remember from my teens and it made me feel very weepy with nostalgia. You ever get that?

charliecat · 27/08/2005 13:05

Bands as in Music, blokes with guitiars.

mummylonglegs · 27/08/2005 13:06

And do these Musical Bands have names, cc?

charliecat · 27/08/2005 13:09

I am currently doing my dishes to some fantasic Ols Skool Rave music much to everyones disgust.
What stuff was it making you weepy? I dont do weepy anymore.
I am worried about cash and birthdays. I have came up with the ingenious idea of taking dd1 and her mates to the cinema on Sat or Sunday where it only costs 2.50 a person, thats can be her birthday gathering. I have sold 2 things on ebay that have made me a profit, so the third one I brought was free...that is for thier birthday.......hmmm...dunno what im gonna do about other stuff. its really grim. There is not a fiver spare after bills.

charliecat · 27/08/2005 13:10

Blockheads..was one that was mentioned LOL

charliecat · 27/08/2005 13:10

Pants, now Dps saying he doesnt know whether he wants to go or not.AAAARRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH
I know where id rather be...field or sofa...definelty field.

mummylonglegs · 27/08/2005 13:16

Ummm ... sofa for me, I'm afraid!

I know what you mean about money. I've been selling stuff on here - books, dd's sleeping bags, sold some old records of mine the other day. I've got her a few things. I'm flummoxed as to what to do with a party as we've got so little space here, could just, only just, squeeze 5 kids in, and can't afford to hire somewhere.

charliecat · 27/08/2005 13:17

Grim isnt it...gonna have to shoot dd1 wants back on xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

mummylonglegs · 27/08/2005 13:19

Me too, dd's falling asleep on the sofa!

dropinthe · 27/08/2005 17:25

Hiya Guys,

Am only on for a wee while as dh taken the boys to the park.We are going camping next weekend CC in Tenterden-do you know it?-my Mum has given us a massive 8 person,2 roomed jobby and I bought some cheap sleeping bags in Argos yesterday as our old ones are really too thin to be of any use in a field.
So,you're an old school cheesy quaver on the sly are you CC?Me too-I was a proper clubber once-still got all the cd's that I play with nostalgia.
MLL-I IMPLORE you to read the Davinci Code-it is not hard work at all just a rip roarer of a read.I can't put it down and when I finish there is so much I want to Google to see if references are correct-I'm sure you dp told you the gist but its got me thinking now and it does make very good sense.Have you read it CC?
Anyway, have got the hang over from hell as dh and I got v drunk last night-still ended up having a great time if you know what I mean-which is rare these days!!

charliecat · 28/08/2005 19:47

Hello folks........My goodness, I have had an all day hangover and dont have the energy to fart. Another milestone passed, drunk and within a metre of a joint and didnt even consider it.
Bloody Hell...am I cured? At the start of my mission to get off the fags, joints were my tripping wipe. Kept having a wee joint here and there. Woo hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Im there...Im there
I know where tenterden is, about 30-40 mins from here. Pass the sign for it on the way to Ashford!
You must beg or borrow some inflatable mattresses DIT, honestly, I dont know what nick i would be in if It wasnt for the mattress.
We take our quilts with us too, one under us and one on.

mummylonglegs · 28/08/2005 21:40

See, cc, you should've stayed on the sofa with a nice rug over your knees and a milky hot chocolate ...

But yes, I think this is IT, you're CURED. Leader!!!

I've had a bit of a grotty day too for totally diferent reasons. Dd's just been in one of those PMT moods they seem to get. Really grumpy and cross and rude. I felt drained and rather depressed by bathtime tonight. Plus dp's word stress gets worse and worse ... Oh for a holiday ..

charliecat · 28/08/2005 22:03

Can you fling yourslef in a tent for the weekend befor eth esummer ends?
There was a van with M.L.L parked in the field i noticed, lol

dropinthe · 29/08/2005 12:03

How was your camping trip apart from being hazy??I wouldn't dream of going without the inflateables-I spent my childhood going camping so have had first hand experience of the ground when we couldn't afford blow air beds!!
We had an impromptu BBQ yesterday as a few of dh's relatives arrived on us unannounced-kept alcohol down to a minimum though,(LOL-two G&T's and a bottle of wine!!!)
What is it with us ex-smokers?Replacing one with the other me thinks!!
Anyway, hope your weekend has got better MLL and dd has shaken her mood off-CC,hope you have shaken your hangover off.

prettyfly1 · 29/08/2005 18:23

hey drop how you getting on babe!!!!!!!!!! ready to look at quitting again, my quit day is wednesday, i am armed and ready with my lozenges, my new bf doesnt smoke and my son by the way who is now four months old is a beauty and i would rather, despite the fact that i smoke outside he never sees me do it at all! can i come back!?

mummylonglegs · 29/08/2005 18:29

Hi prettyfly, go for it! Roll on Wednesday ...

Cc, I have to say that camping is not my style. Dp would love to, and I'm sure dd would love it, but I'm quite agoraphobic and the thought of sleeping outdoors terrifies me! My best hope, this year, is if I can drag dp away from his work for long enough to visit my mum on the Norfolk coast. But his big deadline is 12 September plus teaching starts then as well so I'm not holding my breath. I keep having these mad fantasies of winning the lottery. Even though I don't do it.

charliecat · 29/08/2005 22:19

I dream of winning the lottery too.
Instead we are nearly jobless and pennyless...ho hum...wont think about that though
I was still recovering from my hangover today, still felt weak and tired and stiff. The music was great, the kids were playing in the field till it got dark then they sat on the blankets with us till thier eyelids were drooping then we sat round a wee fire still listening to the music. Very good. this was one of the blokes
hey PF welcome back!

dropinthe · 30/08/2005 08:06

So glad to see you back Prettyfly1-I started a thread asking about you a few weeks ago as had been wondering how you and that lovely son of yours were.
We will be here to help on Wednesday-as you know I stopped with the lozenges although got a tad addicted to them but stopped them at around 4 and half months and figure they helped ALOT!

OP posts:
fionagib · 30/08/2005 10:35

Hi folks
still ciggie free here and v v addicted to lozzies... MUST come off them soon...

cc, sorry to hear you're stoney broke, hope things pick up for you soon.

came round to the camping thing this summer - went to our first festival ever, just a wee one (wickerman festival in scotland), was brilliant fun - had 2 teeny tents (much easier to put up than a massive fancy contraption).

charliecat · 30/08/2005 11:06

Glad to hear you still off the fags Fg, whats your lozzy intake now? You need to get of those its an expenive habit!!! Remember you can get them off ebay for much cheaper.
