Just cut my finger in the garden. i am 28 no idea when i had my last tetnus shot should i go and get one?

Did you have a complete course of tetanus shots as a child? You probably did unless your parents were very anti-vaccination, and you'd know if that was the case.

They don't do routine boosters any more - you used to have to have them every 5 years, then every 10 years, but then they phased them out completely - I kept going back to ask for a booster (because I worked with animals) and they had always just changed the rules again so I never had one!

thats what i thought riven. it is on my index finger on the back across the nail bed. hurts like buggery. was a clean cut tho and gave it a good wash mil put antiseptic on it .

just phone your surgery tomorrow and ask. theyll say if you need one or not.

if you have had 5 tetanus shots as part of the immunisation schedule then you are covered for life.
