micropenis

I obtained some excellent links via mumsnet to charts of normal penis size in boys and they would be very useful to me right now with regard to DSD and possible abnormal penis size.

Does anyone have them or other good links please?

You appear to have two micropenises on the go...

HousewifeOfOrangeCounty · 14/06/2010 22:49

DSD?

hobbgoblin · 14/06/2010 23:06

Blimey, I didn't even clock that...I guess it's less of a worry than it could be then.

Don't know how I managed two posts at the same time. Portia; DP read your post and did this at me as though to say "two penises on the go? And you say they are micro sized?!?!?"

ha ha

Anyway, back to the seriousness...DSS has agreed to go to GP. In fact, he wants to quite badly, poor love.

Any prior info to read would be handy.

Strangely enough, I came on here about to post a request for info/support for DS1 (10.5) who seems very worried about the size of his penis and testicles so i would also be very interested.

DH has reassured him that they both grow with the onset of puberty, and shown him this chart which talks about the various changes and timings!

However it's hard for DS1, as DS2 (not yet 8) is hung like a donkey already and seems to get massive erections (which he delights in showing off to DS1 and me )
In fact, I was wondering if perhaps DS2 had some sort of testosterone overload at the moment - I'm sure I read something about the hormones in milk causing a problem (and he DOES drink a lot of milk...)

Anyway - Sorry for rambling - I would also be interested in this!

Is this the chart you were thinking of:

here

ottermingoo · 15/06/2010 12:55

They have charts for this? Boggling!

SpawnChorus · 15/06/2010 12:59

Why wouldn't they? There are charts for just about everything!

SpawnChorus · 15/06/2010 13:03

I refer you to the Bristol Stool chart (lol)

Brilliant SC that is the precise chart I was after. the penis one not the stools which I have yet to look at

PortiaNovmerriment · 15/06/2010 13:20

Am I reading that right- if you've got a small penis they thnk they may as well turn you into a woman?

Harimo · 15/06/2010 13:24

I just checked out the stool chart.

Imagine that being your life's work......

SpawnChorus · 15/06/2010 14:26

No not at all Portia. If you read to the end of the article it explains that sex reassignment at birth is now regarded as having a very poor outcome.

NinjaChipmunk · 15/06/2010 15:15

what is average stretched penile length? does that mean it needs to be stretched out to be measured? i have noticed ds who is 2.8 is quite a bit smaller than the other boys in our group of friends. i am glad someone else brought this up as i wasn't sure how to post on the subject without looking like a wierdo. i just keep telling myself it doesn't matter at this age and it'll grow as he does, right? doesn't help that one little boy is about twice the size....

spongecakelover · 19/06/2010 19:43

Mmm me too NinjaChipmunk and I keep telling myself the same thing. Mine also has a mate with a huuge one. It's hard to know what to do - you feel like if you miss something you're failing them, but to take them to the doctor or something risks making giving them some kind of complex, or the doc thinks you're a wierdo!

whomovedmychocolate · 19/06/2010 19:46

The do change massively at puberty and all kids grow differently so please try not to worry.

According to that chart DS has a very big one - mind you it's never out of his hand at the minute so that's probably why.
