hi,

i have health anx bad at moment , so please be gentle

not sharp pains just dull , not quite right .
Today not so bad but a little there but better than before .

had breasts checked 3 weeks ago was i suffer with anx and saw something on TV so set me off .
she said all felt normal .

my period is due this weekend coming , im 38 .no FH of BC

should i be rushing back to GP again ? i cant feel a lump and breast looks normal .

or could it be enflamed tissue from all my poking ?

thank you

I was once a little bit over enthusiastic with a breast self - examination and I was sore for a few days after that with what must have been slight bruising/inflammation.

It sounds like the pain is getting better and it may also be related your period - I sometimes get achy breasts a week or so before my period is due.

I know you are struggling at the moment so I'm not sure how reassuring I or anyone can be. Have you thought anymore about focusing on treating the HA?

Take care

I hope you don't think I'm being dismissive - I'm really glad you are waiting on CBT and I hope it helps.

I get this sometimes, I think it is related to my cycle, plus different styles of bra! the ones I own whihc are a bit tight with underwiring sometimes make mt boobs hurt a bit. I have some non wired ones for when that happens.

choclab · 14/06/2010 12:56

calmed down a bit now , doc called back , and i went to see her , she examined both breasts and found nothing no lumps or bumps . so that a relief , she also said i could take star flower tablets as this helps breast pain.

thanks again for listening to me x

if it's any comfort, breast pain is rarely related to anything sinister like bc - hope you get the CBT soon - meanwhile it might be worth looking at some self help CBT books - I was a bit sniffy about them until I was recommended one by my therapist and it really has helped...will go and see what they're called for you...

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/06/2010 18:32

this is written by the two therapists who wrote the book i have (mine deals with OCD) - it really helped -am also on venlafaxine which has helped too
here

MaryAnn- someone was needing advice here last night and your name came up as helpful...if you do a search you might find it?

I've had something similar for a while,I'm breastfeeding and it seems as though I had a blocked duct and I have a milk cyst (totally fine,no treatment needed )in that breast.I had an ultrasound a few days ago.My GP did echo the above poster in that pain in a breast is very very rarely anything sinister. It can also be referred pain from your ribs or arm,you could have just pulled a small muscle or strained it.If it goes on you could get an ultrasound to reassure you but its probably either hormonal or muscular.Hope that is reassuring!

thank you ,
i will keep note and see how it goes , feels bit better still today ...and will start taking EP

What contraception are you on? I suffered a lot of breast pain on the Progesterone (mini) pill, mainly in one breast

choclab · 15/06/2010 11:19

not on any ...had blood tests done today to check hormone level so will have to see , is alot better today though
