REALLY heavy bleeding following loop excision

hi.

I've just been discharged from hospital without any answers so i need some advice please.

My brief history is that i have a colposcopy and loop excision on 1st June following an abnormal smear. CIN3 and still waiting for histology results (Told 4 wk wait)

I had some discharge( lighter than i expected) for first few days and my period started on Fri or Sat (hard to judge what was actual start due to discharge IYKWIM. Heavier than usual (again as i expected) When I returned to work on Mon (Lucky me had procedure during half term!) my bleeding got much heavier. I had little clots. I phoned Colposcopy clinic and than advised if things hadn't settled down by weekend contact GP. Did a short day at work on Wed and did "light " duties.

On Thursday, while at work bleeding quite heavy. PROPER blood not bloody discharge(TMI detail, I soaked a san pad through and had blood on knickers over an hour and a half, passed a 2cm blood clot) so I saw my Dr within two hours and by then bleeding had lightened again.

On Fri morn, bleeding was light. I then started to knead some bread (Random!) and seem to have triggered bleeding off again. We had some friends over(who don't know of my current cervical adventures) and throughout dinner i went through EIGHT mat pads between 7pm and midnight. i passed huge clots 8cm size ones. I presumed as soon as I relaxed and lay down in bed the bleeding would stop. I got up at 3pm, but had to crawl to bathroom and collasped (didn't lose conciousness) and fell on floor. We phoned gynae ward and were advised to come in. I then started shivering and ended up calling an ambulance.

i was examined and put on antibiotics and admitted due to blood loss, but the dr didn't explain fully what her thoughts were re bleeding. She tried to reassure me but then kept insisting I get my gp to chase histology up and saying things like "you're OK , for the moment."

Later in day Dr came back to say my iron levels were ok so I didn't need to stay the night (Hooray) I tried to ask for more info but she said she was very busy and the nurse would let me know. I asked the nurse when she appeared two and a half hours later but she didn't know anything. There is no diagnosis on my discharge letter.
I'm not sure I have an infection. No high temp, no odour, some discomfort (But hard to tell if it's IBS related cos I'm sooooooo stressed!). Blood loss is light again ,as it has been since 3am on Sat morn when I fainted and called clinic.

Can anyone suggest why I might be bleeding? Can I have an infection? Can this JUST happen? I've been given no advice re follow up. I've decided not to go to work tmw as this seems to trigger off bleed.

Sorry about how long this is.

No advice I am sorry you are having this problem, as you are not working tomorrow could you get an emergency appt with your GP and go from there?
After a gyne exam last week I got my period and had a very heavy bleed [a tampon and pad were flooded and leaked through within an hr]Dr did check tests for infection and I was sent for a scan all was ok, it was due to fibroids hopefully you will be feeling better today and all will be well tomorrow but plse do go to a Dr or if no appt available go back to hosp A&E if necessary and refuse to leave without answers. Mind yourself

Thanks for response. I disappeared for a bit as my poor kiddies haven't seen much of me!

I phoned gynae ward and spoke to a very lovely nurse who happened to have worked in colposcopy previously. she was very reassurring about the likelihood of all this being due to an infection(which I'm fine with) She said it's very very rare for it to lead to that ammount of bleeding and to end up in hospital but again if I just happen to be unlucky with that,so be it. My main stress was the "if it's not an infection, than what could it be.......?"

This whole episode has been a total nightmare and I'm still waiting for the letter that says I haven't got a microinvasive cervical cancer. WHICH I will receive!!!!!!!!!!!!
