I assume its every 4 hours minimum just like paracetamol.?????? I took some at 11.45am so should i take some more at 3.45pm ?
I have just had minor op to remove a cyst and when the local anaesthetic wears off i know it going to hurt.

4 things for you

1 - ibuprofen is every 4 hrs

2 - you can take more than they say - take 600mg ibuprofen at a time (3 standard tablets)

3 - you can take ibuprofen and paracetamol together because they work on different pathways in the body - so either take 2 paracetamol and 3 ibuprofen all at once, then wait 4 hrs, OR take 3 ibuprofen, wait 2 hrs, take 2 paracetamol, wait 2 hrs, take ibuprofen, etc

4 - do not go over that stated dose of paracetamol

Every four hours up to a maximum of 8 tablets in a day is the usual advice although you'll find they actually wear off after three hours. To avoid these painful hour-long waits between doses, you can alternate ibuprofen with paracetamol quite safely.... a tip I got from my GP... because they are different drugs. So start with ibuprofen and two hours later take paracetamol - two hours later take another ibuprofen... and so on.

I know someone who was given 600mg ibuprofen tablets by her doctor (wisdom tooth pain I believe), so that dose is definitely safe.

No need to be , they're right. Paracetamol and ibuprofen are different medicines that are not contraindicated. You space them accordingly and keep up your pain relief levels. Just don't take more than the recommended number of tablets in 24hrs and keep a note so you keep track of where you are.

Get well soon.

And ibuprofen in particular is for short term pain relief. After 2 or 3 days if you still need pain relief then check with a gp who may give you something else or okay you to continue.
