Damn. Have tried everything from tea tree to wet combing, from Hedrin to Derbac. Have even bought electric combs. What actually works? Every time I manage to get rid of the blighters the kids bring them home from school again. It's never ending!

Get a nitty gritty and do it every week without fail. We haven't had any since we started this routine

Do weekly checks like Hurley says. That way if you do find any it's less overwhelming.

you have my sympathy - same happens here.

they just seem to love DS1, so I have to comb him every 2 days. That keeps them at bay but we're only free of them during the holidays.

I've re-named his year at school as year of the nit

its a nit comb - I got ours in Tesco - they are about £10
