Damn. Have tried everything from tea tree to wet combing, from Hedrin to Derbac. Have even bought electric combs. What actually works? Every time I manage to get rid of the blighters the kids bring them home from school again. It's never ending!

Get a nitty gritty and do it every week without fail. We haven't had any since we started this routine

DramaInPyjamas · 08/06/2010 16:17

Do weekly checks like Hurley says. That way if you do find any it's less overwhelming.

Dollytwat · 08/06/2010 16:18

you have my sympathy - same happens here.

they just seem to love DS1, so I have to comb him every 2 days. That keeps them at bay but we're only free of them during the holidays.

I've re-named his year at school as year of the nit

Blef1974 · 08/06/2010 16:20

What's a nitty gritty?
