I'm sick of it, seems to be getting worse, now I am waking up with pyhlem stuck in my throat with light headedness....awful and really slows me down.

There must be other MNers who also suffer who have words of wisdom?

I'm not sneezing or anything seasonal. Its getting worse. Docs can only prescribe temp nasal sprays but I over used these and my nose just burnt.

I'm driving my husband mad, what with the snoring too.

It makes me feel slow, lethargic and miserable.

Sinusitis? Have you tried Sudafed?

Earthymama · 07/06/2010 23:51

Do try this, sinus massage it sounds like sinusitis. You can get antibiotics if you are desperate but they aren't very effective.

I have a Netipot that helps, try to avoid lots of dairy and just try to manage it.

My sympathies and welcome to a club you'll wish you weren't a member of

Hi bacon - have only just seen this but since January 2008 when I conceived my second child, I have had the most awful post-nasal drip...if that's what it is. Basically I describe it as lumps of gunk in my throat that I have to cough up constantly...worse in the mornings...is this what you mean??? It's totally horrible and I sympathise greatly. I was told it was due to change in hormones in pregnancy and would improve when the baby was born. But my ds will be 2 in October and it is still there. It isn't AS bad but still not ideal. I am a singer as well so this isn't great for me! GP only prescribed nasal sprays which did nothing. Have seen an ENT specialist but he couldn't help really either...said only treatment would be to operate as a last resort which I'm not keen on. Do these symptoms sound similar to you? Would be great to hear if anyone else has any remedies. Good luck.

I still have phlegm/catarrh since a nasty chest infection last July. Had loads of ABs etc Have been for lots of breathing tests/x rays/ chest ct scan and all fine. Have been referred to another consultant who is sending me for a sinus ct scan and an examination of my voicebox. Have googled (naturally) and the depressing thing is that some people seem to have had it for years
Hope you get better soon.

A chiropractor helped me a lot - did cranial therapy as well. Spent months before taking Sudafed & nasal sprays etc and GP wanted to refer to ENT surgeon - was constantly dizzy & felt as though i had glue ear
I also gave up wheat which for me seemed to make a big difference - after a few days of too much bread now I rally notice the dizzyness & lethargy coming back
