I've been bleeding during sex. it doesn't continue after sex, it happenes during.

I have no pain or discomfort.

I've been on Femedone(sp?) for years,

As I have terrible migranes when I have a break/period I tend to take upto 5 packets without a break.

I was told along time ago by a doctor that a 7 dya break wasn't actually needed, but women prefered their cycles to feel natural, thats why they have a 7 day break.

Could this be the reason I am bleeding?

I have an appointemt torrow but am a bit worried and would like to jsut have a rough idea before I go.

I had a similar problem a few years ago, which turned out to be caused by cervical erosion. It's apparently more common if you're on the pill, especially if you've been on it for a while IIRC. I don't remember needing to have any treatment for it, but came off the pill not long afterwards anyway as I was TTC.

Thankyou Linzer,

I had a smear in the last year whgich was normal, but its hard not to worry.

I am worried I'll get told off for not taking the pill properly though!

I think its time to try another contraception!

Beware of the coil - I suffered from cervical erosion due to the coil threads scraping the cervix during sex. Took the doc and me 6 months (and swabs and ultrasounds) to work our why I was bleeding. Now taking Loestrin pill which seems to be doing the trick (I am over 40)

Thanks,

GP said taking the pill without a break is fine and shouldn't cause beleeding so I have another smear on Wed morning.

i don't know about the bleeding but i do know that femodene is a combined pill and people with migraines are not advised to use combined pills (or anything with oestrogen in it) due to increased stroke risk.

i was moved onto cileste (Progesterone only pill) due to migraines.

don't know if this will apply to you but discuss with GP and don't be surprised if a POP is suggested.

Really?!

Hmm well I have told them time after time that I have migranes and they never said anything

Thanks for that.

I know that the pill I'm taking (Qlaira - combined type but a "light" version according to my gynaecologist) isn't suitable if you suffer from migraines (or a certain type of migraine, at any rate). So it sounds as if you might possibly need to change to at least another type of pill...

FWIW my GP referred me to the hospital when I was suffering from bleeding; they did a colposcopy and hysteroscopy there, which is when the cervical erosion was diagnosed.

Good luck with the smear on Wednesday anyway - hope all goes well.
