I'm on the first cycle with it. Spotting every day. Now I'm on 23 rd day of the cycle and it seems like I'm getting my period. Or perhaps it's just more aboundant bleeding.I'm always on 28 day cycle. Had all the check ups(scans) and smear done, too and everything's ok.
My gyneco said it's quite normal for women to bleed/spot for the first couple of months and everything might stabilize after ie no bleeding, no periods. So she told me to give it a chance.

But I'm not having any sex anyway, as find the continual spotting a bit gross/ not making me feel sexy etc.So it's pointless to take the thing.

So....anyone care to share their experience on this bloody pill? Anyone whose spotting stopped after a while? Please?

Hi there, I had great experience with cerazette first time round, was on it for years, but most recent time had light bleeding for I think it was around a month. It was a complete hassle, sometimes I would think it had stopped so wouldn't wear a pad, then it would start again.
I went to the doctor about it and she said that for most women it had definitely stopped after 3 months and to bear with it.

I think it calmed down after about a montha and a half so hopefully it should die down soon for you.

First time round I didn't have any periods on cerazette for a number of years therefore, it may be worth persevering.

Thank you. There's hope then. It's so annoying.

My friend loved Cerazette, she had no side effects and her period stopped with no spotting. Me, however, hmmmm.... well lets just say I have stopped taking it and 6 weeks on still have no period, but I get period-like symptoms. I didn't get on with this pill at all, it gave me tummy pains, made my hair and skin horrid and I was ravenous all the time. You have to find what works for you. Hope things get better for you. x

Thanks, ILM. I don't think I've got any other side effects, although I have been irritated all the time lately, but I think that's to do with current life circs than with the pill...am a bit spotty at the mo, though. Mmmm...

I found the continuous spotting really annoying the first three months and was going to give up on it, but then it just stopped and I had no bleeding at all after that. I've recently moved straight from Cerazette to Implanon and haven't had any bleeding still. If you have medical reasons that stop you taking the combined pill, as I do, then I would try to stick with it for six months before you make a judgement on it.

Thanks Enola. That's encouraging. I'm breastfeeding, that's why it's the only pill I can take.

I had 1 period at the start with cerazette and havent had a period since (2 years or so). There are actually several mini-pills you could try as there are 4 different types and one may suit better than another (although I'd persevere for a few months first just to see if the bleeding settles down first). I took femulen and micronor first before ending up on cerazette as the previous 2 gave me periods every 2 weeks (good a contraception!!).
