Dizzy when ovulating?

Please tell me I'm not alone with this, it's really getting me down I've been getting really bad dizzy spells for the last couple of years, which have become much worse in the last 4 months or so.

It's not a hungry or tired or hot dizzy feeling, it's literally a room spinning type feeling. When I walk, I feel as though I'm leaning to the side and when I sit up in bed in the mornings I feel like I'm on a boat!

I've been trying to keep a track of when they happen and have started to think that it's maybe when I ovulate - last month and this month tie in exactly. Although I can't guarantee that they only happen when I ovulate.

I've googled and seen that it can happen, but I thought I'd ask on here as well. Can anything be done for it? On the bad days I feel as though I can't drive safely. This hasn't been a problem up until now (DH been off or I haven't needed to drive on those days) but I do need to go out today and I've realised it's getting in the way of life now...

Any ideas? Thanks

ps; I've had vertigo/labrynthitis and the dizziness feels exactly the same, no sickness though (thankfully!) although my stomach does feel heavy.

Mrs M

I would visit the GP asap and get this problem further investigated. It certainly warrants further investigation and treatment as it is now impacting on your life.

You mention you've had vertigo, this may be the root cause on this occasion as well.

Thanks Attila, sorry to post and then run off - I logged off for a while as was feeling worse sat on here!

Yes, I think I will go and see the GP. I think it's because I find the wooziness hard to describe, that I've not been sooner to be honest. It is getting in the way of life now, DD has two friends over today for a sleepover and I've just had to phone their parents and ask if they can drop them off as I really don't feel safe driving.

I had the vertigo about 11 years or so ago and then nothing until recently so didn't think this would be linked. It's entirely possible though, I suppose.

Thanks for your reply

Hi I do get this when I ovulate and when my period comes, I also get excruitating pain aswell which has now been diagnosed as endometriosis.

My sister also gets dizziness but it always turns out to be an inner ear infection

Worth going to Dr's about

I get dizziness and nausea when ovulating. Fun, huh?

Thanks everyone, will have to make an appointment for when the DC go back to school, it looks like it could be a number of things so probably best to get it checked out properly.

This is obviously a VERY old thread but if you’re still around @MrsMeow I’d love to know how you got on. I’m experiencing dizziness, have done a couple of times over the last few months, and I’ve just thought it may be linked to ovulation. (For me this started after a missed miscarriage.) Would really appreciate any information!
