i am concerned about going on holiday with my children,we are going to Turkey but i don't no whether they need any vaccines. My mom and other members of my family had vaccines before and ended up being really ill whilst away! so sometimes you wonder what you do for the best

Your nurse / health visitor / GP clinic should be able to advise.

Or try NHS Direct www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/

I have been a Practice Nurse since 2000,we only used to advise Hepatitis A jabs if staying for longer than 3 weeks etc.not for normal package holidays, but since then the advice has changed.....

Your Doctor/Practice Nurse has up to the minute info on whats needed, its advisable to follow their advice, rather than any website,as Health professionals have access to different parts of the Websites which are updated much more regularly.

Hepatitis A is fould in contaminated Water and food, particularly prevalent if your hotel serves a nice luke warm buffet etc!
Its unlikely the jab will make you feel unwell, maybe your arm will ache, and you feel a little warm, but this passes off in a few hours.

Best advice, have the jabs a couple of weeks before you go.
