Hand foot and mouth

My DS was exposed to this at playgroup 2 weeks ago. I didn't give it much thought, but I was just moaning to my Mum about the weird spots on my hands... Could I get it and what happens? Internet says spots are on the palms, but mine are on my knuckles, one hand only. They're small spots, not red or anything (unless I squeeze them...) and not itchy or sore (unless I squeeze them).
No other symptoms, nothing in my mouth or my feet. Although I do have a really nasty sore throat which feels like a stone is stuck in my throat, or a massive bruise. I'm assuming that's coincidental.

DS - he has a spotty bum but he gets this sometimes when teething. Today he complained about a sting in his mouth (his only word for any pain-related thing) but he's teething; I couldn't really see anything there.

Can anybody diagnose us? And what do I do if it is that?

If the spots look like chicken pox spots but in the wrong place its probadly HF&M. Some people will get F&H or H&M or M spots only. Spots in nappy area are common with it as well.

You could get HF&M but its equally likley you have some other casue to your rash and DS is just teething. Not a lot to be done for FH&M any way, DS might feel miserable with it.
