Cerazette - is it a good option for a breastfeeding mom?

My doctor put me on cerazette since i am breastfeeding. A week into the treatment just one week after my period i started bleeding again, very lightly for about 5 days. I'm on it for nearly three weeks and i have no clue what's in store. All I know is that i will completely loose my mind if this bleeding thing doesn't stop. Any advice?

I found that the bleeding didn't stop. Mostly just spotting but very annoying. I came off it in the end as I couldn't stand it any more.

I took neogest for years (also one of the progestegon only pills) I did find you got a bit of irregular bleeding at first but it does settle after a few weeks.
I know it's annoying but I found the mini pill very good once things had settled. Very reliable if you take it at the right time and I conceived very quickly on the two occasions that I wanted to

i started on it 6 weeks after my 2nd dc was born and had lots of irregular bleeding. stopped taking it after a few months, the bleeding hadn't settled by then and it was making me feel a bit weird TBH.

I was on Cerazette for several years and never had a period. I think it's horses for courses.

I was put on it after DS was born as I was breastfeeding etc too. I've never had a period in the 21 months i've taken it although it did take me a good 2-3 months of feeling odd to settle down which I put down to it. I am only now thinking of coming off it as I cannot lose weight despite 5 months of eating well and exercising.

Take it for 2-3 months and see if it calms down. If not then go back to the doctor and ask to be put on a different kind of mini pill - they are not all the same.

I'm bfing DS, aged 12 weeks. Have been on it for 2 weeks and feel no different than I did before.

Periods hadn't returned since before pregnancy, and so far I've had no spotting, discomfort, or milk supply issues.

TakeLovingChances - you should be aware that you may still bleed on this pill. your baby is only 12 wks old, so its normal that your periods have'nt yet returned. I was hoping not to bleed at all while breastfeeding but i did get my period when my baby was 4 months old. also 2 wks is a very short time to base assumptions on. hope all goes well though
