Lump in armpit

worldgonemad72 · 23/05/2010 13:42

Hi

Ive found small pea sized lump in my armpit. Its not red but does feel a bit sore if you press it. I dont think its anything serious but my dh wants me get it checked out. I dont want go the docs as ive been quite a lot this year with pains in my back and abdomen and just turned out to be muscle strain. Has anyone else had a lump like this and what was it?
Thanks

might be a lymph node - think you'd be wise to get it checked -the doctor won't think you are wasting his time or anything....

Your DH is right, go to the doctors. No doctor will think you are being a nuisance (or whatever you are thinking). There are any number of things it could be, I have had completely harmless lumps in this region. I have also had something more serious. Yours may very well be nothing to worry about, but these things should always be checked.

Don't want to panic you, there's no need to do that, but do get checked. Good luck

It's likely to be a blocked pore/gland or a boil if it's sore. It's always best to get lumps checked out by the GP though. Does it feel like it's in the skin or deeper inside?

It feels deeper inside tbh, i do think im mythering the docs if i go back again but i will ring the docs tomorrow and see what they say. Thanks for your replies

They will tell you to get it checked. They won't think that you are mythering them, it's their job!

yep, just get it checked, then you won't be wondering or worrying
