Copper coil - question with TMI alert

Hi - I had a copper coil fitted about 7 weeks ago and since then... well, sorry if TMI but things 'down there' have not smelt normal and I am wondering if anyone else had similar?

It's not a fishy or completely evil-knock-you-out smell, as people describe infections - more like the smell you get right at the end of a period when there's a bit of blood but not enough even to wear a pad. Anyone else had this, and when does it go? In all other respects the coil is doing its job nicely - but I just can't bear the slight 'old blood' odour much longer and am becoming self conscious about it with dp. It's fast becoming good contraception - but not in the way it was designed to

That doesn't sound right. I'd get it checked out if I were you.

Cheers ladies - off to the GP on monday then. It's been going on a bit so I thought it wasn't regular 'spotting'.
