Yesterday I had a nap and today I am fighting to keep my eyes open. It is getting boring. Wish I knew why I am feeling like this.

I know you're following the other thread but deserve your own response as well. Fatigue can be due to a lot of different factors. Most obvious is lack of good quality sleep. Either too short in duration or too light & interrupted. Different people need different amounts of sleep but you could try aiming for a regular 8 hours and see how that goes. Make sure that your bedroom is as quiet and dark as possible and kept at a cool temperature. Light, noise or a stuffy atmosphere interfere with sleep. 'Muggy', humid weather can do it as well.

Next up on fatigue are 'lifestyle' matters. Cigarettes, alcohol, caffeine and other stimulants can mess up natural cycles of sleeping and waking. Being very overweight or very underweight can leave people lethargic. A poor diet (even mild malnutrition), lack of exercise, inadequate fluids.... can all contribute to fatigue.

Then you've got lots of medical reasons for which fatigue might be a symptom.... anxiety/depression, thyroid problems, diabetes... the list goes on. So if you tackle your sleeping conditions and lifestyle choices and you're stll falling asleep in the afternoons then it would be wise to see a doctor.

Thanks for replying Chil .

I take up to an hour to go to sleep and then this morning I woke at 5.05am and then back to sleep until about half past six.

I don't smoke or drink alcohol and have had one drink of coke in the last couple of months and 2 glasses of lemonade yesterday. I did 1 1/2 hours of exercise on Tuesday but yesterday I just walked to school and back which is about 40 minutes in total.

I do have depression and take ADs.

I am more tired than when I was up in the night with the babies .

You should talk to whoever prescribed the antidepressants because 'fatigue' might be one of the side-effects in certain people There is usually more than one medication that does the same thing and it could be that this one simply doesn't suit you.

I tell the GP every time I see him, which has to be every 3 months, and he isn't bothered.
