Circular red marks on DH's back - size ofa penny - look like love bites (!) but perfect circles. Any ideas?

NB: they aren't lovebites

There are two on each side, one below the other, almost symmetrical.

No itching, pain etc

v odd

He has been abducted by aliens whilst sleeping, obviously.

LilRedWG · 19/05/2010 11:36

Ring worm?

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 19/05/2010 11:37

Could be ringworm - not as gruesome as it sounds, just a skin rash, fungal I think.

Ask the pharmacist if there's an OTC solution.

waitingforbedtime · 19/05/2010 11:37

Oh yeah, or ringworm maybe

MamaGlee · 19/05/2010 11:38

i don't think its ringworm as its a solid mark, rather than a "ring~"

His anal passage feels normal, he says, so I doubt alien abduction

Could be ringworm or discoid eczema or a reaction to a label on his clothes or maybe he's been leaning against something that has left a mark?

IndigoSky · 19/05/2010 11:41

Has he been playing with a cattle prod?

LittleB · 19/05/2010 11:50

Could he have been bitten by ticks? They can leave a red circle which can be a sign of lymes disease, but only likely if hes been playing in rough grassy or moorland places where sheep or deer hang out. If he has best to see gp, although its still quite early in the season for ticks.

Chil1234 · 19/05/2010 12:57

I'm also tempted to say 'insect bites' of some kind. Flea bites are quite distinctive but there are lots of other critters out there waiting to have a nibble. If they are on his back, wash bedding and vacuum mattresses as a precaution.

MamaGlee · 19/05/2010 13:09

they don't look like bites at all

v weird

.....I have the same mark...somehow me and my sister in law got the red circular mark in the same spot of our backs, we don't really even sit together, I don't know why her boyfriend didn't get it but I did..., what is it? it's really starting to scare me, I'm going to a dermatologist in a few days :

MamaG · 21/07/2010 05:50
