Mucus in poo for a week

DD (18mo) has always been really constipated up until about a month ago when I overhauled her diet and cut down on bread and dairy a bit- problem seemed to be solved.

However, for the past week she has gone from 1 poo a day to 2 or three, and there is mucus in her poo- not a great amount until the last nappy where there was quite a lot.

She doesn't seem to be in pain and has showed no signs of being in discomfort- should I worry?

Any advice appreciated

Could be that she is teething. That can sometimes make stools runnier. She could have a mild stomach bug affecting consistency. If there's been any change in diet, ditto.

There's no poing saying 'don't worry' because you're clearly worried. So make an appointment with your GP and let them take a look. If for no other reason than to put your mind at rest.

Your GP will need to see a stool sample - a small amount in a sterile tube is good, the surgery can give you a tube in advance of your appt if you ask them.

I was going to suggest lactose intolerance, but I see you have cut down on milk and it has got worse!

Thanks for answers... somebody mentioned that it could be due to a cold, and she has been a bit sniffly, so if it's still there in a week I'll take her to the GP.

I'm not cut out for this mothering lark.
