IUD with retracted threads?

I'm too chicken to go to the FPC and have it removed. The last doctor that tried damn near killed me and I couldn't walk upright the next day.

It's been in there for just over 5 years now. Do you suppose it will become part of me if I leave it in there for too long?

Does it hurt to have it removed with that little brush thingy? I had two c-sections so I'm not used to 'traffic' going through that area!

your op is funny sorry

can you not feel the threads at all?

atomicsnowflake · 12/05/2010 23:02

No, no threads at all. I've had an ultrasound and the wretched thing is still in there though.

They retracted after I inserted a mooncup a good few years ago whilst I was going through an eco phase.

I have images of it burrowing its way through my uterine walls and it migrating to some other area of my body.

i wouldn't have trusted a mooncup with a coil tbh poor you

5 years isn't long for a ooil to be in though it is - wouldn't worry i doubt it will wander off somewhere

Yeah, mooncups and coils is what I now call living dangerously! I should have known better really.

I'll just have to grit my teeth, have a small whisky and a couple of co-codamol and get hubby to take me up there. It's all his flippin' fault anyway, he's too chicken to have a vasectomy!
