Hi there,

Im a 20yrs old and a mummy to a gorgeous little boy, I was diagonised with endometriosis at 13yrs old and had quite a severe case of it, my consultant had never seen such a bad case in such a young person - advising, if I was in my 30's she would have done a hysterectomy.. she also told me I would most likely have trouble conceiving. I would be interested in hearing other peoples stories if you experiance this..
I obviosuly didnt have any trouble concieving with my lil boy and I also had a miscarriage after having him. but Me and my partner are trying now for a child and we havent been lucky in this first month How long do i have to wait?????

Thirteen months is the average length of time it takes a couple to conceive a baby. Most people seek treatment after a year.

There is a lot of treatment for endometriosis though - please ask for a referral to speak to someone - treatment these days has changed quite a bit, some people get laser treatment and it can help.

FWIW I had endometriosis, miscarried, had a DD, miscarried, had a DS- at least a third of all pregnancies miscarry, it doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you necessarily, mostly it's just bad luck.

Hi, I was diagnosed with endo before I had DS. Was told me chances of conceiving were slim as DH had problems too.

Eventually conceived DS after have the laser surgery to laser away the endo that is there. My understanding of endo is that is you can't conceive, you don't. If you do, whether you miscarry or not then it doesn't really interfere with your fertility, but could take a bit longer. Aparrently pregnancy is the best thing for it anyway and it 'cures' many women. I think mine is back though as I have been having pain. I was also told by my doctor that I won't be able to have the laser surgery again as that would be treating infertility and my hospital won't treat for infertility if you already have a child.

I have a friend (no problems) ttc atm and it is taking a while but that is because she is so desperate. For some reason, the more you are worried about it and the more you want it, the longer it takes. You generally need to wait until you have been trying a year before you go to the doctors.

Good luck.
